I've got maybe 600 words to go before I reach my goal of 7K! If I'm motivated to write, I'll probably finish today.... UPDATE: I did it! Seven thousand and seventeen words! But the story isn't over yet, and neither is the month of November.... I'm not stopping yet. I'll be back!

NaNoWriMo’14 Day 10 – Double Post
Mwahahahaha! It was apparently Double Up Day in NaNoWriMo proper on Saturday, where NaNo-ers were encouraged to double their word goals, which I think is insane. But instead, today, I shall post doubly on the occasion of NaNoWriMo. If my principal were Principal Strickland from a certain 1980s movie I would recommend content-filtering before watching, … Continue reading NaNoWriMo’14 Day 10 – Double Post
NaNoWriMo’14 Day 10
We're one third of the way through the month of November, and already, I've written about 5/7K words. I could theoretically write those last two thousand words today in a few sittings ... but I doubt I will. I am barely finished with Chapter Two in my 5K novel. Yes, judging by the length of … Continue reading NaNoWriMo’14 Day 10
NaNoWriMo’14 Day 9 – Prewriting
It's so convenient to look at today's date and immediately know how many days into NaNoWriMo you are so you can title your post properly (and vice-versa). Yesterday, I took a Day of Rest from writing my novel. I relaxed, read Pride and Prejudice (the romantic element is horribly dull, but the historical element is … Continue reading NaNoWriMo’14 Day 9 – Prewriting
NaNoWriMo Day 7 – A Peek into What I’ve Been Writing
It's November 7th, which means we're seven days into NaNoWriMo's festivities. I'm now having such a good time, and I've been writing literally "like the Dickens," in the sense that it's been exceptionally wordy. 😀 Here's a small peek at what I wrote today: "Welcome, boys," the principal intoned in a gravelly voice that sounded … Continue reading NaNoWriMo Day 7 – A Peek into What I’ve Been Writing
NaNoWriMo’14 Day 5
The best thing that could happen to this poor NaNoWriter happened to me this morning: I had an idea for a new story, a better story than the one I've been plugging away at, doing 200 words tops a day, for NaNoWriMo. So I whipped out my mobile device and began tapping away like a … Continue reading NaNoWriMo’14 Day 5
NaNoWriMo’14 Day 4
I'll start off by saying I've been very mutinous. I have considered quitting NaNoWriMo 2014 as of Day 2. Sacrilege, right? But don't worry, I'm still here. Well, I decided on writing that story I mentioned in my previous post on NaNoWriMo, the one that's really quite underdeveloped. On a good year, I'll have planned … Continue reading NaNoWriMo’14 Day 4
NaNoWriMo 2014
November is fast approaching, which means, so is National Novel Writing Month. So, instead of trying to grow in facial hair (bearded ladies are just so last century) or cooking an entire turkey dinner singlehandedly (I'll leave that to the more accomplished chefs in my family), I'm going to try my hand at writing a … Continue reading NaNoWriMo 2014
